Abstract. The possibility and need of application of fractional points for aseismic construction are considered. It is noted that in problems of engineering seismology use of integer points for assessment of force of earthquakes is justified. It is offered to call these points in article macroseismic. In tasks of aseismic construction there is a need of use of the fractional points providing the differentiated task of impact on buildings and constructions. Three examples demanding use of fractional points are reviewed: determination of settlement point and peak accelerations on the set repeatability of influence, definition of a class of seismic stability of the operated constructions, assessment of seismic risk and creation of function of distribution density of damages at earthquakes.

Keywords: aseismic construction, macroseismic and calculated point, integer and fractional point, damage density function
