Abstract. The Magadan region seismic hazard assessment in the coordinates 58.5°–66.0° N, 143.3°–157.7° E is presented in points of the macroseismic scale. The scale of the research corresponds to the regional one (in Russian terminology this corresponds to the scale of the detailed seismic zoning (DSZ). The main parameters of seismicity are estimated as follows: the slope of the recurrence graph, the seismic activity matrix, the average thickness and depth of the seismically active layer (h). On the base of the obtained results, we used the focal depth h = 10 km, when calculating seismic intensity maps. Based on the analysis of a complex of seismological, tectonic and geological data on the territory of the Magadan region, we constructed a seismic source zone model with 13 zones of possible seismic sources (ZPSS) of Mmax = 6.5, 7.0 and 7.5. Outside the identified zones, the background seismicity Mmax = 5.0 was used. The study resulted in probabilistic seismic hazard maps of the Magadan Region in terms of a macroseismic scale (intensity points), calculated for an average recurrence time as 500, 1000 and 5000 years.
